Colwyn Abgrall Wins 2025 Callaway PGA of Manitoba Championship in Playoff Thriller
After a weather-delayed second round and a dramatic two-hole playoff, Colwyn Abgrall emerged victorious at the 2025 Callaway PGA of Manitoba Championship, edging Austin Dobrescu in a thrilling finish at Southwood Golf & Country Club.
Abgrall, a Coach & Instructor with GOLFTEC Winnipeg, delivered a clutch tee shot on the par-3 8th hole—the second playoff hole—to set up a birdie opportunity and secure the win as darkness settled over the course. The victory marks Abgrall’s second PGA of Manitoba Championship title, having previously claimed the crown in 2023.
Dobrescu, co-owner of EVO Golf, was in contention throughout the event and continues to impress since becoming a PGA of Canada professional in the spring of 2023. He remains in search of his first individual championship win but once again demonstrated his ability to compete at the highest level.
Ryan McMillan of Elmhurst Golf & Country Club posted back-to-back rounds of 70 to finish alone in third place at 4-under par, while first-round leader Devon Schade of Larters at St. Andrews followed an opening 66 with a second-round 75 to finish fourth.
