Gerry Hodson Announces Major Investment in 2026 PGA of Manitoba Player of the Year Series
The PGA of Manitoba is proud to announce a significant new investment from Gerry Hodson, whose generosity will once again have a meaningful impact on professional golf in Manitoba during the 2026 season.
As announced at the Association’s Annual General Meeting in March, Hodson has committed an additional $10,000 in sponsorship funding to support the PGA of Manitoba’s Player of the Year program. This investment will allow for increased purses across the Player of the Year Series and enhanced payouts for those finishing at the top of the season-long standings.
In addition to strengthening the overall Player of the Year race, Hodson’s support has also made it possible to introduce a Senior Player of the Year category beginning in 2026. PGA of Manitoba members aged 50 and over who compete in all four Player of the Year Series events, as well as the Senior Championship, will earn points toward a separate Senior Player of the Year award, with cash bonuses awarded to top finishers.
Hodson has long been a passionate advocate for the golf profession and is widely regarded as the PGA of Manitoba’s biggest cheerleader. He consistently speaks to the integrity, honesty, and professionalism demonstrated by PGA members and believes the game of golf sets a standard for character that is unmatched in sport. While he has a deep love for the game itself, Hodson has often said that what he values most is the opportunity to be around the people within the industry.
“Gerry’s support goes far beyond financial contribution,” said the PGA of Manitoba. “He genuinely wants to see our members succeed—not only in competition, but in their careers and personal lives as well.”
Hodson’s investment reflects his desire to see PGA professionals thrive and to ensure that competitive opportunities continue to grow in both quality and impact. The PGA of Manitoba is sincerely grateful for his ongoing belief in its membership and for his commitment to strengthening the professional game in the province.
